TEDxHouston 2015 - THANK YOU!

Thanks so much to everyone who attended TEDxHouston 2015.

Every year we are completely mind-blown by the amazing things the community brings to the event. The presenters put in so much of themselves into the talks, we are honored to have been able to bring everyone together.

The videos will be posted over the next few weeks, and we cannot wait to see how the ideas presented will continue to ripple through our communities.

Thank you all for being part of this experience!

This was the 5th major TEDxHouston event and we have some exciting surprises in store for this year. The event will take place on Sunday October 18th at the University of Houston main campus. It will be a celebration of the last 5 years of innovation and creativity throuhghout our city.

We have been working on a great lineup of presenters from across the board who will be sharing presentations on their fields, their personal narratives, and the insights that will make the next 5 years a completely new world.

Be prepared to connect with some of the most interesting stories from leaders in our community as they share their Ideas worth Spreading with our audience and the world.

TEDxHoustonLive was a blast!

Thanks to everyone who came out to TMCx for the TEDxHoustonLive 2015 Simulcast of the TED conference. We were delighted to see familiar faces and new friends who came out for the full day of live talks.

Dr David Eagleman presented his amazing project at TED this year, and our community was cheering him on from Houston. It was awesome to see his talk get a standing ovation, and then get posted on the TED website shortly after. Thanks to everyone who contributed and to our friends and TMCx and El Tiempo Cantinas for hosting the event and for the delicious food and snacks available throughout the day.

TEDxHouston Video Highlight

TEDxHouston aims to:

  • Educate and Inspire.
  • Bring together innovators, doers, and explorers.
  • Encourage the responsible use of resources and talents.
  • Foster an environment of sharing and embracing ideas worth spreading.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Starting as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are then made available, free, at TED.com.

TEDx: The x = independently organized event. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
